This round was a scrimmage against Dark Vengeance on 2fort5r. As I'd just joined APr provisionally, I didn't even have a clan tag on. More importantly, this was my first match playing for a real powerhouse of a clan (sorry, RaV) and I was eager to impress. Naturally, I was pitted against Littleslug, whom I consider the best sniper I ever faced. I didn't get my first frag until almost a minute in, but it was a snipe on Littleslug and it settled me down slightly. Unfortunately, DV managed some quick flag movement and capped in the second minute, 0-1. For its part, the APr offense managed some flag movement early on and pulled the flag outside about five minutes in. It sat there for quite a long time thanks to some clutch sniping from Littleslug, but Omedon finally pulled it away and ZoaLord finished the cap, 1-1.

I really hung in there with Littleslug for the first nine minutes or so but then he just turned it on and started to pull away from me in frags. In the 11th minute the offense managed more flag movement but couldn't quite finish. In the 16th minute the flag moved again all the way to the top of the spiral, but again it returned. About 20 minutes in word spread among the team that DV had gone all D to try and secure a frags victory. We were up 12 frags at that point, so the outcome hung in the balance. Fortunately, another relay started about 23 minutes in, and Omedon took it out and capped, 2-1. After some server trouble with about a minute to go, we held on for a 2-1 victory on caps, 479-371 on caps, and I lost the sniper duel 108-70, but my side won the day.
